Hydraulic expansion is the direct application of high internal hydraulic pressure within a tube in order to form a tight joint between the tube and tube sheet. This expansive force is accurately set, measured, repeated, and controlled.

The HPX and JR7 Series Tube Expanders are air driven hydraulic systems capable of producing expansion pressures up to 60,000 psi (4,134 Bar). When used in conjunction with HydroPro High Pressure Tooling, these systems offer the very best in tube expansion solutions.

The panel mounted LED's follow the expansion process through each complete cycle (indicated with green lights) Any failure to achieve or maintain expansion pressure or time is identified on the panel with a red light at the point of failure.

HPX 6000 Base System with Gun

  • 2 gallon reservoir

HPX 6050 Digital System

All the features of the Base System, plus:

Pressure calculation software, data input/output for tube location, final expansion pressure including real time graphical interface (requires Windows XP compatible computer for data collection).

JR7 System

The JR7 expansion system offers most of the features of the HPX 6000 in a lighter weight frame for portability, but still durable enough for demanding shop work.

Process Indicator Lights

The Process Indicator Lights track, in real time, the entire expansion process.



Green lights indicate the successful completion of a step, red lights warn of a failure to reach and maintain the low limit or that the high limit has been exceeded.
