Tube Plugs

Description

^ top

The HydroPro Tube Plug is a single piece plug designed for exchangers and condensers. The plugging system utilizes hydraulic expansion technology and procedures to set the plug. This allows even oval shaped tubes ends to be sealed and prevents damage to adjacent ligaments and welds.

Advantages Of Using HydroPro Plugs:

^ top
  • 200% - 250% more plug surface area in contact with the tube I.D. than other plugs on the market.
  • Can conform to oval tubes to create leak tight seal where others can’t.
  • Can expanded to handle a larger variation in tube size I.D.s (Example: ¾" tube I.D plug can expand to fill a .040 in gap).
  • Precision machined for most applications.
  • Multiple material choices are available to assure material compatibility for your specific application. The following are examples of materials currently available: 304 & 316 SS, 90/10 CuNi, Carbon Steel, & Admiralty Brass.
  • Excellent pull out test results.
  • Can be welded into place.

Power Supply System

^ top

The Tube Plug Power Supply provides distilled or de-ionized water under pressure to hydraulically expand and set the Tube Plugs in place. The power supply is available in two models. Model TPS-S is our standard model. Model TPS-P is our portable system designed and constructed for ease of shipping. Both systems are powered and operated by compressed air and because no electricity is required they can be utilized in “Hazardous Atmosphere” areas.
